Tuesday Tutorial: Dino Ornaments
By Candie Cooper - To see more projects from Candie visit her blog Candie Cooper's Journal
Rawr! These mighty dinos are ready to
decorate the tree!

Gather your favorite paints, brushes,
Mod Podge and embellishments along with some plain dinosaur ornaments. I
found these dinos at the dollar store--10 for $1. Decorate them with your
favorite techniques. Some ideas are sponge painting, Mod Podged paper
with gems, and a coat or two of Extreme Glitter. Use Podge to attach a
wiggle eye. A scrap of ribbon or old sweater cut into strips makes a
great scarf.

Don't forget your name and date on the
back. That's always fun to see year after year.

Bakers twine fits neatly through the
hole so you can hang it up. Maybe I should rename this post to
"dazzling dinos!"

Tuesday Tutorial: Retro Glitter Ornaments
By Candie Cooper – To see more crafts from Candie check out her blog
Candie Cooper’s Journal

Sleigh bells are ringing and the
glitter is flying on my worktable! I love, love, love to make Christmas
ornaments. This summer I purchased huge jars of retro chunky glitter from
a florist that was closing up shop. I've waited 6 months to dust this
stuff over some Mod Podge and the day is finally here.

Base coat a wood ornament of your
choice in desired paint color--I like to use the same color of glitter as paint
so everything blends together. Leave the paint to dry.

Paint a layer of Mod Podge onto the
ornament (I use a pretty thick coat). While the Mod Podge is wet, dust
glitter onto surface. This technique works with fine or chunky glitter. Shake
off ornament and dump remaining glitter back into the jar.

Thread a ribbon through the hole on the
ornament and tie in a knot. Also, you can hot glue
embellishments like these chip board shapes onto the ornament to add a little
zing. Fill the frame with a picture and decorate away!
