Teaching Thursdays: Decoupaged Mini Comp Books

Do you or your kids use composition notebooks? I know nowadays so many people, kids, teens, and adults have traded notebooks for iPads and laptops. Remember when life was simpler? If you had something to jot down you would write in your black and white composition notebook. Notebooks have become somewhat nostalgic, but thanks to creative crafters that's beginning to change. Instead of designing cell phone and laptop covers, I have recently begun seeing more people give their notebooks a facelift with a new design. Take this decoupaged mini composition notebook, found on Don't Eat the Paste. Shala created this one, and it is so cute. This project is perfect for families to do together, and one I can really see tweens and teens liking a lot. Mod Podge was used in this project, and is a great way to add embellishments to any notebook. To learn how Shala made this notebook, click here. She will show you step-by-step instructions to re-create this project.

Web Wednesday: Painted Art Canvas & Paper Flower Bouquet

During the spring there are several holidays and events to craft for. There is Easter, Mother's Day, and plenty of birthdays. If you're Mom or a teacher to little kids, the spring the one of the best seasons to teach your little ones how to create not just crafts, but handmade gifts as well. Here are two great options that you can create with your kids. Use these projects as Mother Day gifts, or possible birthday presents. This painted art canvas and paper flower bouquet were found on a great parenting site, called Mom It Forward. These projects were made with a mixture of Apple Barrel paint, and FolkArt Extreme glitter paint. Both craft projects are fun, and allow for your kids to get creative. Click here to see how these were made, and to see all the supplies you will need.
