Web Wednesday : Robot Pencil Holder

Cover your kids ears, but I have a secret to tell you. It's almost back to school time! I know your kids are probably kicking and screaming at the thought of this reality, but perhaps this fun school craft will make the transition a little easier. This cute robot pencil holder is so simple to create, and can come in handing as a great storage container. This project was created by Sherri Ragsdale, and is also very environmentally friendly. The main product used to create this is, FolkArt Outdoor Acrylic Paint.  To learn how to make this project click here.

Tuesday Kids' Talk: Playing Dress Up

Kids have such a vivid imagination. Their imaginations can let them create fantasy worlds, out of their backyards. I don't know one kid that has never played dress up to make their imaginary world, seem even more real. Even adults still love to play dress up, you know who you are :)

Many parents create dress up boxes, that are filled with all kinds of costumes, clothing, and trinkets. Now of course you can always buy dress up items for your kids, or you can create handmade dress up items.

Below are some dress up inspirations and sites you can find these handmade creations.

However you decide to fill your dress ups box, whether its full of store bought items, or handmade wonders, I’m sure the kids will love it and get hours of stimulation and enjoyment out of it.

Have your kids played dress up lately? If so, what have they dressed up as?

Children’s Builder Costume ~ Dress Ups

Monday Funday: Creative Project Using Store Pins

Super easy project from me to you today!  I was wondering around the dollar store and came across this little set of pins for, you guessed it, $1!

I love the website, Dollar Store Crafts because they take inexpensive goodies and make them awesome!  This is sort of my own Dollar Store craft challenge so here goes…

I set to using my punches to snap out circles, hearts, stars and what not from red and aqua papers.  I'm pretty sure, I'll never tire of the red and aqua color combo.  You could cut words out of magazines, use scraps of wrapping paper and all sorts of 3D embellishments for these.

Next, you'll need your trusty Mod Podge and small paint brush.  Paint a layer of Mod Podge on the pin and seal with a layer of Mod Podge.  Don't forget you can use Mod Podge to attach the buttons and flat-back crystals too!

And snap!!!  Pin them to you favorite jean jacket or backpack and you're done!
(Candie Cooper created this project. To find out more about Candie and see more crafts from her check out here blog.)
