Monday Funday: Peace Necklaces

By Candie Cooper – See more from Candie at Candie Cooper’s Journal

Jewelry is always fun to make! Check out these peace pendants that you can paint in your favorite colors.

I got these pendants from an online auction site. Paint both sides in desired Folk Art colors. You don't have to leave them solid--streaks, dots and swirls would be fun too!

Once the pendants are dry, you can sand and distress the edges with sandpaper or a Mod Podge file.

Leave the peace signs distressed or seal with Folk Art Extreme Glitters. Gems (or your favorite embellishments) can be added with Mod Podge.

Twist a large jump ring open and attach to a silicone cord like this. Ready to wear!

You're back! I've been wondering about your silcnee It must be nice to take a digital breather. Matt escaped FB for ~6 months & relied on me to give him pertinent (which we all know isn't REALLY pertinent) information regarding friends' and families'. Nonetheless, I hope you've enjoyed your rest. But I miss you & I'm ready to read from you again!

ohhh I feel ya girl! I constantly get questions from people around me asking/assuming that I’m on a diet trying to get thin. However, I can’t blame them for wondering that, since there are so many people out there with troubled eating patterns! Although I don’t necessarily “cut out” foods like crazy and still have my share of sweets here and there, I am always trying to eat moderately and a variety of things because it’s my “lifestyle” and a long-term journey. I like meat, but too much of it will make my stomach hurt. I like bread, but certain flours make me swell up and I can’t digest! I appreciate this post b/c I think it’s true that most ppl just don’t really see the benefits of eating in a certain way! Therefore, they can’t fathom the fact that they can actually enjoy certain “scary looking” foods. So, being patient and just going about on our merry way while being a good example is always the best way to go in my opinion. And thank you for visiting Karlee!

I'd love to try that Modge-Podge dimensional magic. I thought they were two different products by seperate companies. Uh Duh, where have I been huh? I'm always learning about products thru all the great blogs. Your boy is a cutie, better tie him up Mom. I can remember girls coming to our house at that age to talk to our sons. Enjoy that age as they still want to be Mom's buddy. They grow up much too quickly. My youngest son's boy is so much like his Dad it's incredible. He started looking like his Dad early also. He even walks like his Dad. He's 18 and will be graduating high school soon. He's super special to us as he had testicular cancer (at almost 14) with stage 4 all thru his body when they found it. Besides losing a testicle he had tumors in his neck and abdomen. He's been cancer free since year ago January and played football the last 2 seasons for his high school. Also plays LaCrosse. They're so precious, wish I could go back and do it again, even with 4 kids. FurryKidzPaperworx@gmail.com
