Monday Funday: Whoo Will Be Mine? Valentine Holder

Welcome back from the weekend. While you may not be ready for the workweek to begin look at this way, Valentine’s Day is one day closer. For the last week or so we have been showing some cute and easy Valentine’s Day crafts. Several of the crafts we’ve shown are cardholders. A cardholder is a must have item for kids to have, because while they are in school they receive so many of them. One of the best surfaces to use to create these holders is cereal box. Use a cereal box to create this super cute Valentine owl. Laura Bray created this adorable project using Mod Podge and several other supplies. This is a very simple project to create, and won’t take long at all to complete. See below for all the supplies you’ll need and to see the instructions.

PLAID Supplies

·       Mod Podge ® Gloss, 8 oz.

Other Supplies

Hot glue
Craft knife

Instructions

1. Cut off the top of the cereal box.

2. Using the box as a template, cut out paper to cover the front, back, and sides of the box.

3. Using Mod Podge, glue all the papers onto the box.  Smooth out from the center to get eliminate bubbles and wrinkles.

4. Cut out embellishment pieces from cardstock and decorative papers into the shapes of the owl’s eyes, wings, and beak.  Glue pieces onto the box.

5. Further embellish with a skirt and bow if you wish.  Boys may want to add a bow tie to their owl.

6. Glue google eyes onto the paper eyes of the owl.

Okay. For the record I found you witty, firey and I so want to be aonurd you. You were open and honest and real. You made me feel like I knew you forever. You have such a kind soul and I hate that we are so far apart. I do know what's its like to want to find yourself, to get to know the real you. Sometimes we get caught up in life that we don't realize that we've changed until the person we see in the mirror isn't the same person we remembering seeing before. Know I am thinking of you lots (in a total non stalker-esque kinda way) and if you need me I am only a text or call away.

picking gear based on looks can literally result in death , i dont know where you plan to do your outing but good quality equipment trumps “cute” any day , you need items that will 1. meet your needs 2. perform more than 1 function also i dont care if its a day trip pack a survival kit , to include shelter materials, multiple means of fire starter, siginaling devices and a knife, at a bare minimum this is a weak survival kit but it has all the items you need, also a good gps with spare batterys and knoledge of how to use it is an asset . carry a pack with clothing items for the worst possible weather in your area , weather is an unforgiving mistress and can turn at the drop of a hat , basicly be ready to ride out any misfortune when entering the woods . u can pick up ok gear almost anywarewallmart. your local sporting goods store , the internet ,

It is not the talking of diversity that is occuring at these events. During the period of southern slavery, it was common to talk of how there was diversity of individuals- and then to place values that were based on these demarcations. No, these events are created for the CELEBRATION of individuals being different in either agency or geographical discendency. In both cases, it is the celebration of continuing an action despite opposition or challenges. When you celebrate someone maintaining a tradition from a homeland they never lived in, or you congratulate someone for exhibiting a lifestyle counter to the majority, you are specifically elevating the role of the individual who maintains their choice of agency despite challenges. However, the individuals celebrating this diversity then become hypocrites when she/he attacks someone who smokes. Despite a society that in so many ways opposes their actions, they continue to maintain their freedom of agency to smoke. They celebrate it privately or publicly, and yet are attacked for doing so. Worse yet, entire teams of scientists work tirelessly to concoct false results and forge a statistical correlation between their chosen actions and a way of evil. (Yes, the results are false or exaggerated, and when you leave the bubble of the US where it is far too lucrative of a business to attack smoking, you realize people argue for a healthy amount of smoking).Thank goodness we live in such an advanced age where people can blindly turn to psuedoscience as a way of confirming their presumption, and use this to legitimize limiting the freedom of action for others! Do it not for ourselves, but our children, and the next generation, and the spirit of every generation, and lets implement our final solution for smokers!!!

If there were a white history month, every individual that celebrates it would be called a racist.Black history month, Hispanic history month, Women’s history month, and virtually any other month/week/day of awareness is no different than white history month; they are all racist or sexist. As a white male I take offense at all of these things that seem worthy of awareness. What happened to the time when I could call February by its name, and only its name alone? And March? Or even the odd month carved out of both September and October which is now Hispanic history month?I am disgusted by the way things have progressed in this nation. If a minority feels that they are being discriminated against in any manner, they should do one of two things. They should either run for office to bring about “change” as they see fit, or they should pack up and go back to where they came from.Furthermore, if a poor person has time to campaign to raise awareness about poverty week, don’t you think their time would be better utilized by working, or at least trying to find work? And lastly, Nash Keune is the man (but not in March, because that month is reserved for women).

From Victoria:Many properties here in the million plus range are lowering their prices by $100,000 $200,000 and $300,000. One property ($3 million) just lowered it price $500,000.The Victoria RE agents are still spinning the tale that every wealthy person in the whole wide world wants to live here U.S., Europe and Canada (most notably Alberta). The high-end homes are just sitting. I have friends who have had their lovely home on the market for 80 days and only 2 people came to see it. Another person had an open house for their $1.5 million house and not one person turned up. Some homes have been sitting for almost 9 months. We have decided not to put anymore money into Victoria real estate. (my husband had been an analyst on Bay Street for many years and is convinced of a crash). Our agent was still trying to tell us that property can only keep going up here and when we disagree with him he was almost angry that we would even think such a thing.Things often start at the top.

Give them a light dusting off every time you take them off for the day. You can keep a rag by the door for that purpose, or a lot of nicer shoes come in cloth bags — I use the outside of the bag to dust mine off before storing them inside it. You should also use a wooden shoe-tree when you take your shoes off. They’re pretty cheap, keep the shoe in the shape of your foot, and help absorb some of the moisture from the leather.Be sure you’re rotating your footwear and not wearing the same pair every day — it takes anywhere from one to three days or even more for a shoe to dry out fully, depending on the climate. It may not feel like much, but a day’s worth of sweat is a lot, and you want to give that time to evaporate out of the leather rather than keeping it permanently damp. -1Was this answer helpful?

I'd love to try that Modge-Podge dimensional magic. I thought they were two different products by seperate companies. Uh Duh, where have I been huh? I'm always learning about products thru all the great blogs. Your boy is a cutie, better tie him up Mom. I can remember girls coming to our house at that age to talk to our sons. Enjoy that age as they still want to be Mom's buddy. They grow up much too quickly. My youngest son's boy is so much like his Dad it's incredible. He started looking like his Dad early also. He even walks like his Dad. He's 18 and will be graduating high school soon. He's super special to us as he had testicular cancer (at almost 14) with stage 4 all thru his body when they found it. Besides losing a testicle he had tumors in his neck and abdomen. He's been cancer free since year ago January and played football the last 2 seasons for his high school. Also plays LaCrosse. They're so precious, wish I could go back and do it again, even with 4 kids. FurryKidzPaperworx@gmail.com

I hate people that answer questions that don’t know what the heck they’re talking about. DenimGuy5 is an idiot and shouldn’t be answering aviation questions. To clean up his mess of airplanes running into each other if two airplanes took off from different airports and flew directly at each other they wouldn’t collide. First specific altitudes are to be flown for the direction of flight you are traveling. Basically if you are flying easterly you are to fly at odd thousands and westerly you are to fly at even thousands. For example if my heading is exactly 090 (east), I’m supposed to fly at an odd thousand such as 7,000 feet or FL330 (33,000 feet). This would be for IFR traffic which in addition to that each aircraft would be assigned an altitude to fly at which sometimes doesn’t go along with the rule I just mentioned. If you are flying VFR you are to take the same rule but at 500 feet to the altitude you wish to fly at.The answer to the question asked has already been answered by most everybody. When we look at a map we see a 2-dimensional representation of a 3-D globe. When you see the flight track of an airplane that is actually flying direct from one airport to another and it looks curved it’s because he’s following the natural curvature of the earth. If you were to warp that map into the shape of the globe it would in fact turn in to what looks like a strait line from A to B.

I am coming from the other perspective, my mom did this for me when I was little, well really through middle school. Each child had a specific bedtime that was determined by age, we had to get into bed by that time and mom would hug us and kiss us goodnight (bath, books, and whatever were already done) and then leave the hall light on and doors cracked. I would stay up late naturally and as long as I was in my room being quiet everything was fine. When I was little, mom would put on a book on tape to let us listen to or lullabies. I remember often times getting up out of bed and turning the tape over to listen to the next story before I was ready for bed. As I got older and began reading I would stay up late reading. It was always my choice and I learned to sleep when I needed it and deal with staying up late. For me reading was worth it. If I was still up when mom went to bed then she would come in and tell me the world is going to sleep now and time to turn off the lights and I would go to sleep happy. (we had a set of books about the people who wake the sun in the morning, hang the moon in the sky, etc, so I had learned about the world going to sleep and the moon watching over me when I slept). This worked for us through high school with 3 kids. Though by the end bedtime was a non-issue because it was 10 or 11. But we learned how to be responsible with our sleep and listen to our bodies. Mom also instituted rest time in the afternoon on non-school days. Where we had to be quiet and in our rooms playing softly. The rule was that we were suppose to leave our rooms but we often did. I think mom knew but didnt care as long as we were quiet. This lasted till I was 9 or 10 and old enough to be out with friends all day or mom would tell us she needed quiet time and not to disturb her-we couldn’t leave the house without telling her but we no longer had to stay in our rooms. I don’t remember mom doing this when I was in preschool but she has told me she did with good success. And that she would often come when she was going to bed to tell me that world was going to sleep and now I had to too, at 11 at night. So don’t worry about children being up to late if it is their choice; their natural rhythms will work themselves out. From a child who has done this, try it-it should work through at least middle school if not high school because this plan is adaptable.
