Monday Funday: Fun for Kids Family Tree


During the summer months, many families spend more time together. Families enjoy cookouts, picnic, and vacations. There are several memories to capture, but most important its great to highlight each member of your family. This kids family tree turns family photos into a fun keepsake! Sherrie Ragsdale designed this project. This is such a simple, yet creative gift to make during this season. It is sure to bring your family together.

 

PLAID Supplies


·       FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Ocean Cruise, 2 oz.

·       Simply ® Stencils - Uncut Blank

·       FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Coffee Bean, 2 oz.

·       Plaid ® Wood Surfaces - Plaques - Rectangle, Large


Other Supplies


Black fine permanent ink marker
Six water bottle tops
Brown 1/8" ribbon
Glue
Scissors
Pencil
Large flat brush
Craft knife or stencil cutter


Instructions

1.    Base-coat the plaque Ocean Cruise. Allow to dry.

2.    Using the pattern provided, trace on stencil blank and use craft knife or stencil cutter to create stencil. Stencil tree and paint Coffee Bean. Allow to dry.

3.    Cut faces in circles and glue them into the inside of the lids.

4.    Using the marker, outline the tree and add detail to the inside of tree. Outline the plaque and add birds. Write "my family" as shown in photo.

5.    Glue lids to tree.

6.    Cut ribbon to desired length and attach with glue to back.
